Sitting Bull

Austin Ysais

Hello my name is Sitting Bull Leader of the Lakota Sioux tribe. I am not only the chief but also the medicine man that helps cure the sick of my tribe with the blessed gift motherhood blesses us with. My importance to you is I am known for being the last to be persuaded by the war mongering Europeans that were able to lure my fellow Sioux brothers and original north Americans you like to call Indians. The reason for resentment towards the Europeans begins 1850 where I was beginning to fear that the white men where selfishly believing that this land my ancestors rest upon are their land and we are nothing more the strangers over staying our visit. In the process I became more of a leader not only amongst my people hazel eye’s but also the Europeans that granted be the Teton chief in 1867. I would sign a deal that would force me to see the blessed black hills destroyed for the Superficial gold in which the Europeans were addicted to and this treaty was called the treaty of Ft. Laramine. Though my vision in 1881 during the Sundance ceremony I would see my people fight against these white barbarians and become victorious . I would pay the price and be contained within the white mans walls in their prisons and soon after being release the Police of my tribe would kill me in a very controversial event. I would hope to be known for the leadership

And the strength I had to resist the Europeans. I leave you with this quote

Is it wrong for me to love my own? Is it wicked for me because my skin is red? Because I am Sioux?

Because I was born where my father lived? Because I would die for my people and my country?
